REFLECTION
Many of us treat joy like a prize, a feeling we’ll allow ourselves once the work is done, the bills are paid, and the worries are settled. But that day keeps moving, and joy keeps waiting at the door.
Joy doesn’t have to be earned. It can show up uninvited in the middle of an ordinary afternoon: a child’s giggle, a favorite song on the radio, a perfectly ripe peach. And joy isn’t quite the same as happiness. Happiness depends on how things are going. Joy can sit right alongside sadness and still hold you steady, like an anchor.
So don’t wait for everything to be fine. When delight shows up today, let it in. Laugh at the small things. Savor the good parts. Joy doesn’t erase what’s hard, but it reminds you that the hard isn’t the whole story.
Mantras
Short enough to remember. Repeat one whenever you need it.
Joy is welcome here.
I don’t have to earn delight.
Joy anchors me.
I let the good in.
Affirmations
Say them out loud, slowly. Let each one settle before moving on.
I allow joy into my day without waiting for permission.
I can feel joy even while life is complicated.
Delight is a gift, and I gladly receive it.
I notice and savor the moments that make me smile.
Joy steadies me when life feels uncertain.
I deserve to feel light and glad today.
Neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10 (KJV)
TO CARRY WITH YOU
